Definition
a person's sexual identity in relation to the gender to which they are attracted; the fact of being heterosexual, homosexual, or bisexual.
Parent/Teacher Tips
Teacher tips:
Don’t assume that everyone in the classroom is heterosexual or traditionally gendered or in the case of a young child that the family is a traditional family.
Use inclusive language. For example instead of saying mother and father, say parents.
Don’t allow bias or negative comments about sexual orientation in the classroom. Address any negativity or bias immediately.
Parent Tips:
Talk openly about non-traditional families so your child is aware. Don’t allow bias or negativity at home.
An activity that I can do in the class room is have a health lesson and teach them the differences between a boy and a girl and have them trace each other on a big piece of paper and have them say good qualities they think that person has.

An activity that I can do in the classroom
An activity that I can do in the classroom is that I can split the class up boys on one side of the room and girls on the other and they only have to play with each other and have them play house to see how different it is for them to play without having the other sex playing along with them.
